Finding JOY in difficult times...

"If you want to be happy, be..."
This and other similar statements, quotes...come from persons who have realized the simplicity of being joy-filled...like a child.

What happens to many as we grow older?
Do we become so caught-up with the more complex way of thinking and processing our experiences that we forget what it feels like to be free? like a child?

How often do we take "time-off" from what is considered more serious matters (ie: work, work, work...study, study, study...) to do joyful things like dancing in the rain, playing with our children or taking our dogs for a walk (and enjoying it?)...visiting friends or talking to perfect strangers as we wait in-line at the store (wishing them a happy day)?

The face of a happy child is inspiring and convincing. When we gaze upon such a joy-filled child, we smile ourselves and may become nostalgic for the days when we, too, were small, innocent and free...
The secret is (no secret, really...) that we can be joy-filled and free - like a child - our entire lives...if only we find joy (the good) in all our experiences.

Don't get me wrong...this is not a negation of the trials and tribulations that are part of our life's journey...this is only a triumphant acceptance of who God created us to be: a free child in His image and likeness! Let us place our complete trust in the hands of God, our Father. He always knows what is best for our formation...He takes good care of us - no matter what we do to ignore His infinite benevolence and mercy...
